Which is the best camera canon or nikon?

hi all i am planning to purchase a new digital camera my range is between 8,000 and 10,000 (INR)
somebody told me to buy a canon camera and someone suggest nikon. i am totally confused please suggust me the best one..

    Both are excellent brands that make quality cameras. I am a Nikon user so of course I favor Nikon cameras. My advice is that you have already set a price range, search what Nikons and Canon cameras fit your price range and then choose the camera that provides you the features you want and need most. Which camera provides a higher ISO range to help with low light, which camera has video (if you want video), which camera has a zoom range that works for you?
